Advanced Composite Structures Australia (ACS Australia) has been awarded a $949,282 Defence Industry Development Grant (DIDG) under the Sovereign Industry Priorities Stream – announced by The Hon Pat Conroy MP, Minister for Defence Industry on Friday, 23 May 2025.
This grant will support over $2 million in investment into expanding ACS Australia’s advanced composites production capabilities, focussing on procurement of equipment to automate composite manufacturing for a range of programs including components for the Ghost Shark XL-AUV autonomous underwater vehicle.

This milestone builds on ACS Australia’s significant strategic investments over the years in advanced manufacturing, which includes ultra-high temperature (UHT) composites for hypersonic and space applications.
