ACS Australia would like to congratulate our chairman, Professor Murray Scott, for being the most recent recipient of the Scala Award of the International Committee on Composite Materials (ICCM). This award is made every two years, with the decision to select Prof. Scott taken by the ICCM Executive Council in August 2017 and presentation of the certificate made during the ICCM22 banquet held in Melbourne, Australia on 15 August 2019.
Associated with this honour was the privilege of delivering the opening plenary lecture at the 22nd International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM22), which was held in Melbourne, 11-16 August 2019. Prof. Scott spoke on “Advanced Composites Research and Innovation – an Australian Perspective”, which was very well received by the global composites community.
